C4D is communication that aims to empower 'the weak' and influence 'the powerful'.
Whatever the medium - rural radio, mobile telephony, the internet, video, speech, performance or the published word - C4D is communication that brings about positive social change.
Whatever the project or programme - C4D is about the sharing of knowledge and information through dialogue and participation. Under-represented groups can become actively involved in policy-development and decision-making through improved knowledge sharing.
Now that digital communication technology is making information and communication increasingly accessible and affordable at grass-roots level, remote rural populations and impoverished urban dwellers are better equipped than ever before with the tools to express their own development priorities.
