Dikany MalagasyThe Local Inititiaves Fund financed mini-projects of all sorts, but the most successful were market garden crops and in particular, onions and garlic. Successes in all these areas led to an average rise in income of 75% and new credit and savings facilities gave smallholder farmers the opportunity to invest in further economic growth which, in turn, led to a higher standard of living.
