Dikany MalagasyThe closure of the PHBM and handover to local associations was a carefully planned element of the project, to ensure sustainability of the successes seen since 1996. Farmers' associations now provide advisory and management services to producers in the region and the local economy is flourishing. There are many lessons to be drawn from this integrated rural experience that can be applied to projects elsewhere.
