The PROSPERER project takes existing enterprises and offers them the training and techniques to turn their businesses into viable commercial ventures that can trade at the highest levels and work through the Chamber of Commerce at a regional or national level.

These businesses are either rural, usually artisanal enterprises, or they are 'host' enterprises. They have sometimes been in existence for many decades, even centuries. Basic financial or management training can give the entrepreneurs the opportunity to compete in an increasingly difficult marketplace.

Conscious of the 300,000 young people who enter the job market annually, the project designers also established an apprenticeship scheme within PROSPERER so that the 'host' enterpises can benefit from fresh and eager talent and many otherwise unschooled youngsters are kept off the streets.
