Has the arrival of the under sea fibre optic cable to Africa's Swahili coast brought a brave new world even to the rural poor of the region? This report highlights the rural business communication networks developed by RAVI in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya with financial support from IFAD. Broadcast was aimed to co-incide with The World Economic Forum on Africa 2010 due to take place in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania in May. It's the first time the event has come to the East African region.
